Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital to be a Model Pediatric Hospital
Officials at Florida Hospital have begun to talk about some of the details from the Disney Children’s Hospital set to open in the middle of 2009. The hospital is striving to be the leader in pediatric hospitalization in the country. The hospital is going to employ specialists in minimally invasive surgery and innovative patient care. Technology will also play a role, particularly in the dedicated pediatric emergency room. Phillips is designing “ambient” technologies to sooth patients and create a more positive experience. Images will be projected on the ceilings and lights will be low and soothing for small patients. The Imagineers will be designing the lobby that will include characters from: The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Brother Bear, and The Lion King.
